Implementation of Different PV Forecast Approaches in a MultiGood MicroGrid: Modeling and Experimental Results

Microgrids represent a flexible way to integrate renewable energy sources with programmable generators and storage systems. In this regard, synergic integration of those is crucial minimize the operating cost microgrid by efficient management generation scheduling. The forecasts can be used attain optimal controllable units predictive optimization algorithms. This paper introduces implementation two-layer hierarchical system for islanded photovoltaic microgrids. first layer evaluates unit commitment, according forecasts, while second deals power-sharing in real time, following as close possible daily schedule provided upper balancing forecast errors. experimentally tested at Multi-Good MicroGrid Laboratory under three different models: (i) day-ahead model, (ii) intraday corrections (iii) nowcasting technique. experimental study demonstrates capability proposed operate an safe conditions, even inaccurate forecasts.
